All You Need to Know About University of Ghana Fees – Payment Methods and Procedures for 2019/2020.

As the premier University of the nation, University of Ghana has developed a variety of payment options and procedures to ensure that, students and prospective students are able to dutifully pay their fees from wherever they find themselves. Many students often find the payment of their fees to be a hustle since they have very few payment options with thousands of students hoping to access and pay.

Payment Methods

The Banks

All tertiary and high schools use collect their school fees using banks as this method provides easy and transparent accountability and reduces a myriad of risks. The University of Ghana is working with all of the Banks named below for the collection of school fees. Some of the banks together with the names of their respective University of Ghana Fees collection accounts are:

  • EcoBank – University of Ghana School Fees Account
  • Standard Chartered Bank – University of Ghana Students Account
  • Barclays Bank – University of Ghana Student Fee Collection Account
  • Universal Merchant Bank – UMB Collect Form
  • Access Bank
  • Prudential Bank
  • Stanbic Bank – University of Ghana Fee Collection Account
  • Republic Bank – University of Ghana – Fees

The banks and the accounts mentioned above are to be used by all Ghanaian students except those from Distance Education and College of Health Sciences.

Distance Education Students are to use the:

Ghana Commercial Bank – College of Education DE Students Fee Collection Account

Whereas the Ghanaian students offering Health Science Courses are to pay at:

EcoBank Ghana LTD – University of Ghana College of Health Sciences Student Fee Account.

Online Methods

Fees can be paid online using Visa Card, MasterCard or Mobile Money (MTN and Vodafone). To facilitate this, is the link https://sts.ug.edu.gh/ugpay

Cheques (No personal Cheques)

Anyone who wants to pay their fees using cheques would have to go to the University of Ghana Cash Office at the registry of the University of Ghana Main Campus to pay. It is hereby worthy to note that Cheques can only be paid at the Cash Office and not at any bank.

Procedure For Payment

Students are to pay fees at the approved and above listed Banks. When in the Bank, the payee would have to pick a Fee Deposit Slip and fill all relevant parts. Name and School index number should be written exactly as it appears in the admission letter.

Moreover, all school and residential fees ought to be deposited in cash only at the Bank. The payee is supposed to ensure that the amount quoted on the receipt, is the same as the amount paid. And in addition, it has to be verified that the account name is that of University of Ghana.
